Urban Poems for the 21st Century by Clive Stevens

Poem for Nancy

You are my future world
My love goes deeper every day
You are the light for my darkest night
My love grows deeper in every way

You are a rose within a rose
The nuclei of my atoms
A lady on a golden horse
Riding into my shamballah

When I am near you
Your ambience takes my breath away
When you are gone
My spirit goes astray

I swim in the rivers of your bloodstream
I cry into the forests of your hair
I walk on the landscapes of your skin
I succumb to the magic of your enchanting eyes

You are my love potion nine
My ecstasy divine
The sun goddess of my dreams
The love of my life, so it seems

You are my waltz
You are my quickstep
You are my rumba
And my cha cha cha

But most of all
You are my tango
In the night
My dancer from the light

When I am with you
I feel like a magician performing his trick
Pulling a golden rabbit from a silken black hat
A musician who plays his song
With cosmic notes from a distant galaxy

You come from the kingdom of 'che'
The land where Gato first blew his saxophone 'ole'
A place where Maradona was prince for a day
A country where eva had her way

I love you, I love you, I love you
Forever, forever, forever
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
Tomorrow, yesterday, today
I love you...

Specially written on commission from Michael, Miami December 20, 2001

From the Author:
I was so moved by the feelings that Michael expressed about his girlfriend who was recovering in a medical clinic from a health problem, and the unique complexity of their relationship that this poem came through me from a higher source.

There are nine stanzas making this poem magical in all respects. Nine is the number of revolution, magic, holography and the great Indian Avatar Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

There are nine muses; Calliope, Clio, Erato, Eutherpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalla and Urania. They are the daughters of Mnemosyne (memory) and Zeus, presiding over the arts and sciences. They signify eloquence and music.
